Mortgage Rates Drop To The Lowest Level In Over A Year:
Mortgage interest rates fell for the fourth straight week, and buyers (and owners!) are paying attention. Total mortgage applications jumped 7.1% last week 30-year fixed rates dropped to 6.30% — the lowest since September 2024. Points eased to 0.58, making borrowing slightly cheaper.
What’s driving the activity?
- Refinance applications are up 9% week-over-week
- Refi volume is now 111% higher than this time last year.
- The average refi loan size: $393,900, meaning big potential savings
- Adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM) demand dipped — more buyers locking fixed rates while they’re improving

- Purchase applications up 5% week-over-week
- 20% higher than the same week one year ago
